By RIYADH: ARAB NEWS - Al-Majalla magazine has launched its new website in Persian. It is the first Persian-language publication of the Saudi Research and Publishing Company (SRPC).
Commenting on the event, Prince Faisal bin Salman, chairman of Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), said the step comes in the context of the SRMG's drive to increase its reader base and continue interaction with different cultures.
On his part, Chief Executive Officer of SRMG Azzam Al-Dakhil said the success achieved by the magazine following the launch of its websites in both Arabic and English with reader base exceeding one million was a stimulus to have content in Persian language for many Persian-speaking people.
He said the step is aimed at spreading knowledge, increasing its reader base and open communications with other cultures as Persian-speaking people are now more than 100 million and spread over the Middle and Far Eastern countries.
Al-Majalla Editor in Chief Adil Al-Turaifi said the site will not only depend on the translated items from Arabic and English but will also have authentic items in the Persian language written by well-known thinkers and intellectuals in addition to unbiased analysis, interviews and features that will, hopefully, spread knowledge.
He said the website in the Persian language will act as a link between neighboring cultures and stand as a forum for dialogue between diverse opinions and views based on mutual respect.
The magazine staff plan to issue a monthly digital version that could be directly uploaded from the site as the case with the English and Arabic versions.
