The National - Editorial - Saudi Arabia deported about 20,000 Yemenis in just a few weeks before suspending on Saturday the expulsion of all expatriates who lack the proper up-to-date paperwork. Now foreigners have three months to get their papers in order. After that, up to 300,000 Yemenis, plus an unknown number of Indians, Pakistanis and others, face deportation. The Yemeni and Indian governments have expressed concern.

Abdulrahman Al-Rashed - Al Arabiya - The Egyptian government - the ruling Freedom and Justice Party - and the Muslim Brotherhood criticized a tweet by the American embassy this week. The tweet was against Egypt’s clampdown on freedom of expression and referred particularly to the case of political satirist Bassem Youssef.

Huda Al-Saleh - Riyadh - Asharq Al-Awsat - Asharq Al-Awsat reveals new information about Iranian spy cell arrested in Saudi Arabia - Asharq Al-Awsat has obtained new information about the Iranian espionage cell detained while operating clandestinely on Saudi soil. The Saudi Interior Ministry initially announced that eighteen men—one Iranian national, one Lebanese national, and sixteen Saudi nationals—had been arrested while working for a “foreign” intelligence agency, before subsequently pointing the finger at Tehran.
